PB Taster Trip Eve
Taster Boat Sessions – Poole Harbour
The idea of these Taster Powerboat Driving & Boat Trip sessions is to give you a taste of what you’ll experience during a course. Maybe you’re not sure about boating, maybe you want some time to prepare for a course? Perhaps you just want to get afloat in the Harbour with a friend or family member trying a new activity. These are relaxed ‘no pressure’ sessions. You’ll be able to take the helm under the guidance of a qualified instructor if you wish. Alternatively, sit back enjoy the views and take photos.
The booking is for up to two people and you’ll have a dedicated boat & instructor to yourselves. Please do contact us if you’d like a particular date as we may be able to run an extra boat. If you’d like to add extra people contact us to discuss the options.
Options for these Taster Powerboat Driving & Boat Trip Charters:
- You may choose to join us for our one hour session afloat. We would anticipate heading through the main channel past Brownsea Island and on to look at the houses on Sandbanks. We would then return via either the Wych Channel or the North Channel. There may also be the chance to have a look at the Quay. If you have a lifeboat fan on board let us know and we’ll try to include a run past the college.
- Alternatively, join us for our two hour trip afloat in which we can circumnavigate the islands in the Harbour. This will give you the opportunity to view the remote parts that cannot be seen from the Quay. We will then pass the entrance to the Harbour and take a look at the houses on Sandbanks. We can then return via the North Channel and a trip past the Quay to take in views of the Sunseekers.
Please note there is a speed limit within the harbour which we will abide by. This is intended as an introduction to boating and the harbour, not a high speed adrenaline trip. If you’d like to see something in particular please speak to us in advance. This is to ensure the tide will make it possible. As these sessions are aiming at beginners they will be wind & weather dependent.
Before booking:
Please be aware that powerboating does require a certain level of fitness and usually the ability to sit astride a jockey seat. Please check our website for further details on the boats used (our RIBs) to ensure suitability. We may be able to use another boat if this is arranged in advance as we like to make boating accessible for all. If either person in the party are under 18 please contact us to discuss in advance of booking. Children are welcome but the trip is best suited to adults due to the seating arrangements so please discuss with us prior to booking. Please be aware that boating may not be suitable for those with back injuries or similar – you will be sent a booking form in advance with further details. We may need to vary times slightly due to sunset times – these will be confirmed at time of booking. We want to enjoy the experience so these trips are subject to weather.
After booking you will receive an email from us to confirm availability which will also confirms timings due to daylight. If you do not receive this please contact us before turning up! The trips must be booked at least 48hrs in advance of trip unless discussed by phone. We’re quite flexible but would hate to miss your email.
What do you need to bring?
We will supply the lifejackets. You just need to bring warm clothing, waterproofs if necessary and suitable flat shoes such as trainers.
